Meet Him At The Well - Carrie Bettinger

Friday Evening General Session

Description: Life is hard and throws us many curve balls. There are times when it feels like you are in a desert place and you are longing for a drink.  Our Savior can give you that drink.  Sometimes it comes in the form of a huge downpour and sometimes it comes in the form of a dripping faucet.  Either way, it is always good to drink from the Well That Won't Run Dry!

Carrie Bettinger is the wife to Scott, married 15 years this July, and a mom to 5 year old twins, one boy (Cameron) and one girl (Caleigh). They serve together as a family at North Ridge Church in Plymouth, MI.  Carrie is on staff in the Children's ministry and is also one of the Worship Leaders at their main campus.  Scott and Carrie own a Creative Firm that invests churches and other non-profits to help them develop their identity to their community and reach their full potential as a church or non-profit.  They love serving others and can't wait to see what God has in store for them in the coming years.

Defining Moments - Rochelle Harmon

Saturday Morning Session

Description:  The word Defining means shaping or any process serving to define the shape of something.  On Saturday morning I will be sharing some of the defining moments of my life and how God has used each and every event of my life to shape me into the person He longs for me to be.  I know I am still a work in progress, but that is just where God wants us to be-“works in progress” ;clay that He can shape and mold into usable vessels.   Isaiah 64:8 says “But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” I am so thankful for a God who loves us so much that He never stops working on us.

Rochelle has been married to Nate Harmon for almost 13 years. They have two sons, Riley is 11 ½ and Brady is 8.  They serve together at the First Baptist Church in Medina, Ohio where Nate is the Executive Pastor.  Nate and Rochelle have been in full-time ministry for almost 13 years.  They love serving God together; it is the heartbeat of their home.  Rochelle is a teacher’s aide in the preschool department at the Medina Christian Academy.  She enjoys cooking, singing, and having fun with her family.

Can You Really Use ME, God? - Connie Jones

Saturday Afternoon Session

Description:  You’ll want to hear how God touched a woman late in life, when she finally listened and trusted God with her every emotion.  From the abandonment of her father at a very young age, a divorce, and raising two children alone, Connie felt rejected by everyone.   How do you trust a heavenly Father’s love, when you don’t know an earthly father’s love?  How do you trust at all when people keep rejecting you?  In a moment, Connie found out and will be sharing it with you.

Connie Jones is the wife of Pastor Jerry Jones

of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church in Norwood, OH.

She is the manager of a food pantry and a caregiver for Alzheimer patients.   Connie works alongside her husband in the many ministries of their church.  They have four children and nine grandchildren spread across the U.S. and Mexico.

  • If I Jump Will I Fall? - Connie Bell

Connie Bell (‘the cartwheel lady’) is happily devoted to her husband Steve of 30 years and is the mother of four grown, married children.  Together they have faithfully served the Lord in just about every capacity of church work.  Who would have thought the Lord would call these empty-nesters to start a new church for His honor and glory?  Taking a huge leap of faith they began Bible Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, OH in July of 2010.  God has truly blessed and supplied their needs in honor of their willingness to surrender to God’s will.

  • Stylin' Cents -Lori Cain

Lori grew up in Brownstown, Michigan as an only child.  She was raised in a Christian home where one parent was saved and one parents wasn't.  It wasn't until 2005 that her father accepted Christ.  She attended Baptist Bible College where she met a young man named Tim Cain.  Little did she know that 10 years later he would become her husband.  They were married in April of 2007, and she moved to Cincinnati.  Tim and Lori serve on staff at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church, where Tim is the Associate Pastor.  She serves alongside her husband in the Classic's class with the Senior Adults and also with the young adults in the College and Career class.  She has a love for fashion and thanks to her husband a love for finding a good deal.  They have one son Carter Wilson who will be 1 on February 3rd.

  • Moment Minder (Craft Class) - Bonnie Hehman

Making a tabletop message center for keeping track of those important details "on the fly".
This is a great keepsake to remember the 2011 Escape, as well as, a lovely and easy gift idea for the future.

Bonnie Hehman has been a "Crafty Lady" for many years.  Some of you may still be using the lovely note cards (or have used the skills you learned to make more!) from the last Escape Craft Class taught by Bonnie.  She has a business called "Joy in a Jar". Bonnie works with a friend creating delicious recipe mixes for soups, cookies, dessert bars and dips that can stored on your shelf in their mason jars until you need them. Then with the simple addition of a few ingredients you have a wonderful meal or treat.  Bonnie herself is a pure JOY to those who know her.  She has held many offices in the Ladies Ministry at West Chester Baptist Church where she serves as the staff Secretary.  Bonnie, and her husband Tom, have taught classes, swept floors, cooked, sang and done whatever necessary to be a blessing to their WCBC family. Bonnie has a heart for the Lord and for the women He created. She is no stranger to adversity and leaning on God's provision.  It is worth the price of admission just to hear her talk and see the love of God in her!

  • Being Teachable and Reachable - Tiffany Lee

Was born, saved and baptized, and is now serving in Ashland Ave Church. She is a stay-at-home mom to a preschooler and a newborn, an in-home daycare provider, and serves with her husband as youth leaders. She also sings in the Praise Team, serves in the Ladies Ministry, and is an Escape Coordinating Team member.
Tiffany has seen and learned much about ministering to women and young girls – being open to their needs, helping when needed, and loving them. Her own difficulties and experiences have helped her to have a better understanding of what it means to show Christ’s Love - by mentoring, ministering and having a teachable heart.
Please join her as she shares her heart, and her understanding of God’s Plan for us to learn-and-teach-and–share with women of all ages.

About

Door Prizes

Again this year we will have an exciting time giving away door prizes.

This year we have an added incentive.

For each door prize entry your church brings, the church's name will be entered into a drawing for the following special give-away

  • One senior high camp registration

  • One junior high camp registration

  • One junior camp registration

  • One 2012 Escape registration

In order to be entered for the special give-away drawings, your entries must be registered at the ‘Door Prize Entry’ table located near the registration table no later than 9:00am Saturday.

The following are a few questions we have received in the past.  Generally speaking, a door prize should be a gift anyone would enjoy receiving or just think ‘would I want to win this?’.  Keeping this thought in mind will answer many questions you may have.

Is there a dollar value requirement for my door prize entry?  No

How many door prize entries should our church bring?  Bring as many as you like.  The more prizes contributed equals more ladies taking home a prize.

Where do I drop off a door prize entry?  At the door prize entry table near the registration table.

Do I need to label the door prize entry?  Yes, please label each entry with the name and address of your church.  This will aide in the registration of the door prize entry and the winner appreciates knowing which church made the donation.

How will my church be registered for the special drawings?  Door prize entries will be registered at the door prize entry table.  Your church’s name will be entered for each door prize entry.

How many door prize entries are required?  There is no given requirement per church, give as many as you like.  The more contributions we have, the more ladies leave with a prize!

Does the door prize entry have to be in a basket?  Baskets, gift bags, boxes.  Please keep in mind the entries will be on display near the stage throughout Escape.  Be creative.

When is the latest my door prize entry can be registered?  9:00am Saturday.

Can I pre-register our church’s door prize entries?  Yes, and that would be very helpful!  You may pre-register your door prize entry by sending a quick note to Door Prize Email or calling Connie Bell at 513-625-1624 letting us know your church’s name and how many door prize entries you will be bringing.
